Pregnancy Helps

Hello Reader,

Laura Lynn, again.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking at the Pregnancy Help Center of Manteca. Manteca reminded me of the ranch life in Montana where I grew up—the people were down-to-earth, and I loved the warm, welcoming atmosphere. As I arrived, I held the door for a young mother and father pushing their chubby little baby in a stroller. They couldn’t stop gushing with pride over their bundle of joy, a precious baby born over 10 pounds! That pure love was such a beautiful reminder of the gift of life.

I was greeted by Cara and Sonia, both of them beaming with joy. Cara gave me a tour of the center, and I was so encouraged to see their beautiful baby boutique stocked with clothes, baby essentials, and mounds of diapers. I also learned they offer parenting classes in both English and Spanish, further extending their reach into the community. It was clear to see they’re not just about saving lives—they’re about supporting life and helping families thrive.

Happenings

I had the opportunity to speak on the Pro-Abundant Life, inspired by John 10:10—a message that’s been on my heart for years and one I’ve written about in Choose Zoe. My father taught me the importance of living life fully in God’s grace, and seeing that message embraced here was inspiring. The center not only supports mothers but also places a special emphasis on fathers. They model God’s design for families, where children are celebrated, and God’s love is always at the forefront.

As I spoke, I couldn’t help but think of Mary and Joseph, and how they faced their own fears and uncertainties during Mary’s pregnancy. God sent the angel Gabriel to reassure Mary, telling her, "Do not be afraid." But He also sent an angel to Joseph, reminding him to take Mary as his wife and become the earthly father of Jesus. We need more men like Joseph, who will step up and embrace the blessing of fatherhood. Malachi 4:6 says, “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” What a powerful reminder for today.

Continuing the rancher theme, they served barbecue at the event, and although I don’t eat meat anymore, I have to admit the smell was delicious! I was especially touched by the people who came to my table—staunch advocates for life, full of energy and inspiration. We took pictures with some of the sweetest children, and many were eager to learn more about my upcoming book, Redemptive Love, which is finally in the final stages of proofreading!

A few leaders even expressed interest in starting abortion recovery programs in their congregations. One board member shared that he had never heard the topic of abortion discussed from such a gospel-centered perspective. I believe this is an area where the church can shine brighter than ever before.

Everyone I met was so personable and helpful, from Rob, the media guy from Calvary Community Church, to Austin, the photographer, who brought humor and lightness to the day. He also took the most beautiful photos, a few of which I’ve highlighted here.

I often say that abortion affects generations, but so does choosing life. The Pro-Abundant Life approach not only saves lives but shows families the beauty of God’s plan. No matter how hard the struggle, and believe me, I know from experience, being pregnant at 15 was tough—family is everything, and the struggle is always worth it!

Let’s continue to stand together for life, inspiring hope and living out the abundant life God promises us all.

The Pregnancy Help Center of Manteca exists to provide a confidential, safe, loving place where young women and men can come to discuss their situation with trained advocates and receive the best, most up-to-date information for them to make informed decisions.

They have been serving the communities of Manteca, Lathrop, French Camp, Ripon, and Escalon for over 30 years.
